A skilled and sustainable workforce for a healthier Scotland

Fairer Scotland and equality impact assessments

We have a systematic process for considering the actual or potential impact of our work on different groups. This is known as Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA). We publish the results of our equality impact assessments.

The Fairer Scotland Duty requires that we carry out assessments of what we can do to reduce inequalities of outcome caused by socio-economic disadvantage when we make strategic decisions. We consider socio-economic issues within our Equality Impact Assessments, which not only supports strategic and operational decision making but also enables analysis of the intersections between socio-economic and other impacts. We also publish strategic Fairer Scotland Assessments on this page.

We publish further information about our implementation of the Fairer Scotland Duty in our Equality Outcomes and Mainstreaming reports and our progress updates.
