8 - 9 February 2024
COSLA Edinburgh
Register by: 24 January 2024
Anyone within our Healthcare Science community involved with training. The event is suitable for all trainees and supervisors, regardless of whether they currently have any trainees.
This event will be delivered online via MS Teams on Thursday 8 February and hybrid / in person on Friday 9 February 2024.
NHS Education for Scotland’s twelfth national education and training event is for you as a member of our community involved with training. Our hybrid event provides an eclectic mix of online webinars and in-person sessions at COSLA, Edinburgh taking place over 2 days. We hope this format presents sufficient opportunities for colleagues to engage. Regardless of identity, specialism or destination, it is an opportunity to hear about topics of interest to our Healthcare Science community and to contribute to it.
Our event is completely free and also offers trainees the opportunity to showcase their poster work.
Poster Competition for Trainees:
Communicate the positive impact that Healthcare Science has on patients every day
Can you design an engaging poster that clearly communicates your Healthcare Science specialism and role to the general public? Imagine your poster was going to be displayed in your local GP practice. Tell us what makes your specialism interesting, is it because of the science, engineering or technology involved? Explain how your role has a positive impact on patients' lives. Our poster competition is for all current trainees with a National Training Number.
We recommend using Microsoft PowerPoint to design posters, they should be saved in PDF format and submitted to HCS@nes.scot.nhs.uk by 24 January 2024. This is to enable them to be judged by our panel in advance of the event.
Rather than print them, posters will be displayed in an online gallery and 4 winners will be chosen to give 5-minute presentations in-person at COSLA on Friday 9 February. However, please note the 4 winning posters will be printed and distributed widely during our Healthcare Science Week campaign in March 2024. There will be prizes of £200, for individual submission, or up to £700, for joint submissions of up to 3 Healthcare Science trainees, towards CPD support.

Our stand showcases the variety of education provided by NES Pharmacy from the traditional distance learning packs and events to more recently e-learning resources, animations and managing training programmes.
Here is a link to the poster which will be displayed on the stand during the conference.
