Generic Real Time Staffing Resource Goes Live
NES Technology Service (NTS) is delighted to share that the Generic Real Time Staffing Resource is now available via Turas.
The new resource will be available at over 1300 locations to thousands of staff across a wide range of professional groups including AHP, Dental, Healthcare Science, Medical, Multidisciplinary, Nursing, Optometry, Pharmacy and Psychology.
NTS have worked closely with colleagues in the Healthcare Staffing Programme at Health Improvement Scotland (HIS) who are responsible for the framework and implementation of RTS.
Kathryn Brechin, Professional Adviser, Chief Nursing Officer Directorate said:
“I would like to thank everyone involved in developing the Generic Real Time Staffing resource, as well as colleagues who have supported the delivery of the specialty specific resources already in place.
“These digital resources have been developed by NES Technology Service alongside the HIS Healthcare Staffing Programme and profession specific clinical experts from across NHS Scotland and they provide a single platform that allows staff from the range of professional disciplines, working across all health care settings to assess real-time risk within their services.”
The Generic RTS is the fifth in a suite of RTS resources co-delivered by NES and HIS which includes:
- Critical Care Nursing
- Mental Health Learning Disabilities Nursing
- Adult In-Patient Nursing
- Maternity
Jonathan Cameron, Deputy Director of Digital Health and Care Scottish Government said:
“It is great to see the development of these resources and how the use of digital technology will support the sharing of processes, policies and information across the workforce.
"I wish to thank the team for all the hard work that has gone into this, and really looking forward to seeing the impact that this will have.”
Real Time Staffing Resources provides a consistent approach to how teams record their daily activity, acuity, actual staffing and what staffing they require (in their Professional Judgement), to be able to deliver safe and effective care. They aim to help Health and Care services meet the requirement to assess real-time staffing and risk, specified in the Health and Care (Staffing) (Scotland) Act 2019.
