NHS Education for Scotland (NES) Statement

The NES Project Team for the Framework said:

"We developed the Transgender Care Knowledge & Skills Framework to support the delivery of healthcare to adult trans and non binary people across all settings in NHS Scotland and which is applicable to all staff. It sets out what NHS staff need to know about to care for trans and non binary people; from receptionists, nurses and GPs in community settings to staff working in specialist gender identity clinics.

"The Framework has been developed with the support of a broad development group, representing staff across all settings and disciplines within NHS Scotland, including experts by experience, and we engaged widely with appropriate organisations including medical colleges.

"NHS Education for Scotland continues to support implementation of the Framework including scoping educational needs and opportunities, and identification and development of related resources."
