Supporting our educators to move online

Across NES, our educators have been and continue to explore the best way to transfer training online, and, in doing so, improve how learning is delivered.

There are many things to consider when delivering training online, remotely or virtually. We have produced a range of guidance to help.

Guidance for transferring face to face training online has evidence-based summaries, comparison tools and case studies to help you get started.

Our digital directorate have updated the guidance for educators site on Turas Learn with a range of new pages and resources - including advice and guidance on the cycle of planning, developing, designing and reviewing educational programmes for health and care staff in Scotland.

To further support the move to training online, our directorates and technology enabled learning (TEL) network are collaborating to share good practice and procedures, see planning for online delivery

We have also collated options for creating eLearning, collaborative spaces and webinars in comparison tables to help you quickly review the functionality of each tool and decide which meets your needs learn.nes.nhs.scot/32460

Software available for delivering online training includes GoTo Meeting/Training/Webinar and Microsoft Teams. Check out this collection of case studies from those with experience of using these tools or submit your own case study via the online form to share your learning with others.

We’re continuing to develop and add to these resources so make sure you add the site to your favourites on Turas Learn and check back regularly for updates.

We would also welcome your feedback and suggestions
