Resident doctors in training
We have been made aware of an issue by the Federation of the Royal College of Physicians of the UK which led to 222 doctors being incorrectly told that they had passed an exam which is part of a much wider package of assessment undertaken during training.
We are working closely across the 4 nations to ensure any resident doctor in training who is impacted will be supported and will work with healthcare providers to ensure those affected can continue to deliver high quality and safe patient care.
Those doctors affected by the this can access support through several routes:
- For doctors in Postgraduate Training programmes: via your educational supervisor, training programme director or regional Professional Support and Wellbeing team
- For all doctors via your employer, the BMA, HCSA or the Royal College of Physicians
We will work closely with the federation to understand what has happened and will provide guidance next week to each doctor based on their individual circumstances.
