Professor Alan Denison appointed GMC Deputy Medical Director

NES is pleased to announce Professor Alan Denison has been appointed as the new Deputy Medical Director at the General Medical Council (GMC).

Alan will work closely with the GMC’s Medical Director to support medical education and training across the UK. His experience as Dean of Postgraduate Education at NES, and his long-standing commitment to improving training for doctors in Scotland, puts him in a strong position to help shape this important national work.

Speaking about the appointment, Professor Emma Watson, Executive Medical Director at NES, said:

“We are delighted for Alan. This is a significant role, and it is encouraging to see a senior Scottish doctor contribute at this level. His experience and leadership in training will be of real value to medical education across the UK.”
