One Week to Go – Four Nations AI in Healthcare Education Conference, 12 Nov 2025

We are delighted to share a detailed preview of the programme for the upcoming Four Nations Responsible AI in Healthcare Education Conference, taking place virtually on 12 November 2025.

This event promises a rich blend of keynote addresses, interactive sessions, and panel discussions, all focused on the responsible and innovative use of artificial intelligence in healthcare education.

And with less than one week to go now, it is still not too late to register to express your interest in attending.

One the day

The day will open with a welcome from NHS Education for Scotland Chief Executive Prof Karen Reid and Dr Mark McCarey, Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency, setting the stage for a collaborative exploration of AI’s impact across the UK.

Our first keynote, delivered by Maria Conde from Microsoft, will provide a global perspective on AI’s transformative potential. This will be followed by a series of sessions reflecting the unique approaches and innovations from each of the four nations:

Scotland will showcase advances in AI-assisted communication skills in general practice, the integration of language and dialect considerations in simulation education, and the use of augmented reality for suicide prevention education.
Wales will present on democratising digital skills through AI, with Dr Alexander Aubrey (Health Education and Improvement Wales) discussing AI’s role in learning and mentoring, and Craig Barker (Health Education and Improvement Wales) outlining the Welsh AI Landscape Review and education strategy.
Northern Ireland will focus on enhancing educational quality through AI, featuring Dr Gareth Lewis (North Health and Social Care Trust) on reflective learning, Dr Nichola Booth (Queens University Belfast) on adaptive learning technologies, and Dr Mark Dornan (Queens University Belfast) on AI in pharmacology education.
England will address curriculum and assessment transformation, with Dr Istapraq W Hashem (University of Nottingham) examining global and national trends, and Dr Aiswarya Nagasubramony (Barking, Havering and Redbridge UH NHS Trust) exploring frameworks for AI in medical assessments.
After a midday break, the conference will resume with a keynote from Bernard Chang (Harvard Medical School), followed by a panel discussion on AI policy and strategy in healthcare education, bringing together policy leaders from all four nations.
The afternoon will feature a case study on AI in consultation skills, presented by Dr Anwar Khan and Nic Boeckx (RCGP), demonstrating the Clinitalk GP training assistant and its application in simulated clinical assessments.

15:20 -16:20	AI in Consultation Skills Case Study – Clinitalk GP training assistant Chair: Prof Adam Hill, NHS Education for Scotland Facilitators: Anwar Khan and Nic Boeckx, RCGP This explores the development of Clinitalk – a tool to help GP Registrars when preparing for the Simulated Clinical Assessment component of the MRCGP. It will include assurance of Clinitalk, ensuring appropriateness of its educational use as well as a demonstration of the consultation including the generation of the feedback based upon the behaviours developed by a focus group of Examiners and experienced trainers. Clinitalk is aimed at providing the baseline feedback for augmentation by the individual Trainers
