New Quality Improvement Learner Pathways

NHS Education for Scotland's quality improvement (QI) team have created new QI learner pathways for people working in the public sector.

These pathways are designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to support change and improvement within your organisation.

Available pathways

Launched this month, the first two pathways are now available.

Kickstart QI is an introductory e-learning module suitable for everyone. This module takes about 30 minutes to complete. Upon completion, you will be able to:

  • understand what quality improvement means
  • describe the quality improvement journey
  • consider how you might get involved with quality improvement

QI Essentials is suitable for those involved in change and improvement activities. This pathway consists of four e-learning modules, each taking around 30 minutes. It covers core quality improvement methods and tools.

Upcoming pathways

Later in the year, the QI team will introduce two more pathways.

Practical QI is for anyone who wants to gain practical workplace experience of QI tools, frameworks and methodologies.

Managing QI is for managers and team leaders responsible for change and improvement. The module will focus on creating and sustaining the conditions for improvement.

Both pathways will blend e-learning with facilitated sessions.

For more information and to access the new learner pathways, visit the QI Zone on Turas Learn.
