New hub boosts public health skills among Scotland’s AHP workforce
A new Allied Health Professions (AHP) Public Health hub on Turas Learn has been launched, designed to strengthen the role of AHPs in improving the health and wellbeing of people across Scotland.
Developed by NHS Education for Scotland’s public health team, the hub brings together a wide range of learning resources specifically designed for AHPs in one central, accessible space. These are from a range of different organisations, such as Public Health Scotland, Royal Society for Public Health, Council of Deans of Health and Health and Care Professions Council.
The hub aims to support AHPs – who play a vital role in tackling health inequalities, working collaboratively across sectors and disciplines to support development and delivery of population health strategies and care – in expanding their public health knowledge and applying it confidently in practice.
What is available on the hub?
The hub, which is for AHPs at all stages of their careers, from undergraduate students through to advanced practice or leadership roles, offers:
- public health theory – theoretical learning on public health concepts
- e-learning modules – interactive learning designed for practical application
- webinar recordings – watch the 2025 webinar series, delivered in partnership with The Scottish Government
- Community of Practice (CoP) – join the Teams channel to connect and collaborate with colleagues across the country
- policy documents and frameworks – stay informed with the latest national guidance
- educational resources – a range of additional educational resources to support your everyday practice
- a series of flashcards - for you to share with colleagues digitally or printed, highlighting key features and resources
