"Scotland has been my home for over 13 years, and I am honoured to contribute to the NES Board’s work in strengthening the health and care workforce. My experiences, from working locally in Scotland’s third sector alongside our health systems to leading global initiatives, have shown me the critical role education plays in driving innovation and sustainability.
"Alongside my role at NES, I serve as the Executive Director of Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi) and previously held the position of Executive Director at the European Health Management Association (EHMA). I look forward to collaborating with the NES team to ensure Scotland continues to lead in delivering world-class healthcare.”

George has worked extensively in Training and Education roles in Australia and has been a Special Advisor to the EU in enhancing the capacity of Member States in Health Workforce planning, particularly in Remote and Rural areas. NES Chair David Garbutt said:

“I am delighted to welcome George to the NES Board.  He brings extensive experience in education and leadership on a European and Global stage including his work as an Executive Director of the European Health Management Association (EHMA) where he led initiatives such as the BeWell project aimed at reskilling 15 million healthcare workers across Europe by developing digital and green skills.  George also has wide knowledge and experience of working with the NHS in Scotland."
