Measuring digital capability
NHS Education for Scotland, on behalf of Scottish Government and COSLA, has created a Self-Assessment Tool to help guide individuals through the Digital and Data Capability Framework.
There are 22 questions, and it takes around 20-30 minutes to complete. The Tool allows users to measure their digital skills, knowledge, and behaviours.
Step 1 - The tool provides a form to guide you through the framework and help you to identify which level best describes your current skills, knowledge, and behaviour.
Step 2 - After submitting you will receive an email with a record of your results, detailing each of the framework capabilities and the level you chose.
Step 3 - The personal email will contain links to learning resources based on the level you chose; these have been selected to support your learning.
- as an individual you should work through the self-assessment tool to review your own digital capabilities and use the signposted resources to further develop your knowledge, skills, and behaviour
- as a manager, you should share the tool with your team, encourage them to use it and make time for discussions to support further development of digital capabilities
- and as an organisational leader, you should consider how the framework and self-assessment tool can support the development of workforce digital capabilities across your organisation by planning and implementing an effective roll out
