David Garbutt New Year Honours
David Garbutt New Year Honours
Congratulations to David Garbutt, Chair of NHS Education for Scotland (NES), who has been awarded a CBE in the New Year Honours List.
NHS Education for Scotland Chief Executive Professor Karen Reid said:
“I would like to offer my warmest congratulations to David. Throughout his eight years as Chair of this organisation, he has provided strong and thoughtful leadership. His focus on effective governance and high performance has been balanced by real warmth and concern towards the people who have worked with him.
“He has been instrumental in creating an empowering and supportive culture. This has seen us not only deliver consistently on our financial and delivery targets, but also being regularly voted as one of the best NHS Boards to work for.
“All this is over and above his 60 years of dedicated public service in many walks of life, including the Police and Ambulance services. David's term as NES Chair concludes at the end of March, so it is fitting that his huge contribution has been recognised now.”
Chair of NHS Education for Scotland David Garbutt said:
“I am greatly honoured that my service to Health and Social Care over the last 17 years has been recognised in this way. The progress that has been made in both of those areas over that time has been extraordinary and it has been a privilege to work alongside so many dedicated professionals who have contributed so much to the people of Scotland.
“My grateful thanks go to these colleagues. It has been a pleasure to work with them and I know that they will go on providing first class services over the coming years. Quite simply they are outstanding.”
