New animation on water safety and infection control risks

NES Infection Prevention and Control Education Team (IPCET) are delighted to announce the launch of their new animation, developed in collaboration with ARHAI Scotland, on the Infection prevention and control risks related to the design and construction of domestic water and above ground drainage systems.

The animation was developed to support a target audience of:

• Healthcare water system designers
• Construction teams
• Water engineers
• Board estates teams
• Board construction project teams
• Infection Prevention and Control teams (Infection Control Nurses, Doctors and Directors)

The animation aims to:

• improve knowledge of healthcare domestic water and above ground drainage systems
• recognise the IPC risks associated with a healthcare water and drainage system and why these IPC risks commence during the design phase
• understand the health impact of the design risks on patients, visitors, staff and the wider community
