The Centre for Workforce Supply (CWS) has launched two new interactive resources.

The resources will support teams, managers, and new International Medical Graduates (IMGs) to ensure doctors joining the NHS Scotland workforce receive a robust induction and ongoing pastoral support.

The guides are available on the CWS Resources Hub on Turas Learn:

  1. International Medical Graduates NHS 2024 Guide
  2. Welcoming International Medical Graduates – NHS Managers Guide 2024

Some of the resources in these guides are suitable for doctors entering formal medical training programmes, whilst others are for doctors joining Health Boards and GP Practices across all specialities, and at all levels/grades.

Professor Nitin Gambhir, Postgraduate Dean, Medical Directorate, NHS Education for Scotland said:

“International Medical Graduates coming to Scotland bring a wealth of skills and diverse experiences that enrich both patient care and healthcare teams. They play a vital role in delivering high-quality care for our patients. The IMG resource guides will ensure these doctors are well-supported as they transition into their new roles, helping them thrive in our healthcare system."

You can find out more details about the wide range of resources on the Turas Learn Centre for Workforce Supply Hub.

You can also join the CWS Medical Network on MS Teams, the CWS team share resources and deliver a series of virtual learning sessions on the network.
