Championing equality and diversity in NHSScotland careers
The NES workforce infrastructure content team have refreshed the equality and diversity section of the NHS Scotland careers website.
The new content, which went live at the beginning of April, brings our equality and diversity content up-to-date. It reflects the wider commitment to creating a diverse workforce and is designed to provide reassurance to anyone looking for a career in NHS Scotland, including people joining and becoming part of our team.
A new video is incorporated at the top of the page, featuring Caroline Lamb, CEO of NHS Scotland. In it Caroline provides an opening statement on our commitment to equality and diversity and talks about:
- staff networks
- flexible working policies
- reasonable adjustments
- NHSScotland’s dedication to fairness and inclusivity for all
The page also features a selection of case studies from colleagues across NHS Scotland. These stories will be refreshed regularly. The content reflects the wider equality and diversity principles of NHS Scotland, recognising that each NHS regional Board has its own local initiatives and practices.
Katy Hetherington, Principal Lead for Equality, Diversity and Human Rights, NES, said:
“It’s important that we keep our digital content up-to-date. A commitment to equality and diversity helps attract talented individuals who want to work in an inclusive organisation. Job seekers increasingly value employers that promote these values, so embracing diversity can help us attract diverse talent and encourage inclusive hiring practices. For those that move on to working in NHS Scotland, it’s important to detail how we support colleagues with our ongoing commitment to equality, inclusivity and diversity.”
