Diana Rios Szwed (Webinar 4)
Trainee Clinical Scientist
NHS Lothian
Diana Rios Szwed completed their BSc Hons in Biochemistry and Immunology at the University of Strathclyde in 2016. Diana then went on to pursue a PhD in Molecular Biology at the Centre for Gene Regulation and Expression in Dundee, where Diana investigated how FAM111A, a gene causing Kenny-Caffey syndrome, regulates genome stability. Diana continued with postdoctoral work at Institute of Genetics and Cancer in Edinburgh, searching for novel synthetic lethal genetic interactions with loss RNASEH2A, a gene associated with Aicardi-Goutières syndrome. In December 2024 Diana commenced their clinical scientist training in genomics at the South East Scotland Genetic Service, NHS Lothian.
