Jim Boyle

Jim Boyle took up the position of Executive Director of the NES Board on his appointment to NES as Director of Finance on 1 February 2022.

Jim previously held the position of Chief Finance Officer of Stirling Council from 2011 until 2022.  He was the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) Scotland Directors of Finance Section portfolio holder for Children & Young People for a number of years and was active in a number of national policy developments during that time.  Jim was also the Chair of that body from May 2019 to September 2020.

Jim has held a number of senior finance positions in local government over a long period of time and has supported a wide range of projects, including cross sector partnerships and public/private joint venture projects.  Jim served as a Programme Board member of the Stirling Health and Care Village project until its completion in 2018 and has been a Director of Stirling Development Agency Limited.

Jim graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Bachelor of Accountancy degree.  He then went on to study at Liverpool Polytechnic (now John Moores University) to attain the professional qualification for CIPFA, and he has been a member of that body for over 30 years.

Jim has lived in Clackmannanshire since 1987, but originally hails from North Ayrshire.
