Post-Registration Foundation Programme for Pharmacists in Scotland (Prior to Autumn 2021)

NES Pharmacy have been delivering a Post-Registration Foundation programme for pharmacists in hospital practice since 2007 and then additionally for community and primary care sectors of practice since 2017. The information presented here is applicable to pharmacists who commenced training prior to Autumn 2021.

Programme information

The programme takes around 2 – 3 years to complete and was designed to support pharmacists early in the career to develop general skills at a more advanced level than  the Foundation Training Year (FTY). Guidance and resources to support the programme are available via TURAS Learn.

Assessment

Assessment throughout your training is done in a variety of ways from appraisals to Work Based Place Assessment to more formal assessment at the end of the programme. Further details of the assessment processes on TURAS Learn.

Available support

Foundation pharmacist and their supervisors (tutors) are supported throughout by Senior Educators who are:
