Changes are taking place within the senior leadership team at NHS Education for Scotland.

07-November-2019

Caroline Lamb, Chief Executive will be taking up a secondment to the Scottish Government as Director of Digital Reform and Service Engagement. As a result of this change, we are putting in place the following interim arrangements, which will be fully effective from 1 December 2019:

  • Professor Stewart Irvine, Medical Director and Deputy Chief Executive will assume the role of Acting Chief Executive and Accountable Officer for NES during the period of Caroline’s secondment. He can be contacted at CEO.NES@nes.scot.nhs.uk
  • Professor Rowan Parks, Deputy Medical Director, will assume the role of Acting Medical Director.
  • Audrey McColl, Director of Finance, will assume the additional responsibility of Acting Deputy Chief Executive.

NES Chair, David Garbutt said:

"I am delighted that Caroline’s excellent work as the Chief Executive of NES has been recognised in this way and know that her new appointment also recognises the quality of the organisation that Caroline has led for the past five years.

“I also know that the wealth of experience she has acquired during her time at NES will be a huge asset to the Scottish Government and I am sure that you will join me in sending Caroline our very best wishes for her new role.”
