Undertaking my Foundation training whilst working in primary care provides unique cross-sector challenges and opportunities. My Foundation training prepared me to meet these challenges and have received support from both my Foundation Tutor and Educational Lead with a mix of one to one and group sessions. The training framework has provided me with many opportunities to develop competence and skills which have equipped me to work through various challenging professional situations. I found the Foundation training emphasis on obtaining feedback from my peers and GP colleagues essential for building effective professional relationships. This is hugely important when working in a large, multidisciplinary team. The Foundation training has supported me to develop my own pharmacist led clinic, support patients with medication queries and, using SEA and audits, support my GP colleagues to develop more robust processes and safer prescribing practices.  The various aspects of Foundation training have made me a more resilient pharmacist with the skills and knowledge to support, safe, effective, person-centred pharmaceutical care.
