Educational Supervision training for the GP Clinical Pharmacist programme

Educational Supervision Training

NES Pharmacy has piloted new training consisting of completion of e-learning modules and one 3 hour direct learning event (DLE) for senior pharmacists involved in the Educational Supervision of General Practice Clinical Pharmacists completing the NES Advanced Competency & Capability Framework.

Three DLEs were held in the NES offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh in October / November and 41 pharmacists across 8 Health Boards attended. The training was evaluated via an online questionnaire (response rate 90%) and feedback was very positive for both the e-learning and DLEs . The pharmacists valued networking with colleagues in other Health Boards and most had plans to amend their practice on return to base.

NES are tweaking the face to face session based on participant feedback and this training will be rolled out in early 2019.
