News: Evaluation of Antimicrobial Stewardship Workbook for Nurses and Midwives

The Antimicrobial Stewardship Educational Workbook for Registered Nurses and Midwives, which was launched in 2015, is being evaluated to better understand the views, perceptions and experience of those using this national educational resource. The information from this evaluation will help to inform the workbook's future adaptation and development.

Behavioural change is a crucial component in making hand washing a habit. NES are delighted to showcase our whiteboard animation ‘Hand Hygiene – What’s Stopping You? The animation is just one of the educational tools developed as part of the forthcoming Scottish Infection Prevention & Control Education Pathway.

News: Decision support app for antimicrobial prescribing

We are delighted to announce the launch of our Antimicrobial Companion, a decision support app which is the product of collaboration by the Scottish Antimicrobial Prescribing Group, Healthcare Improvement Scotland and NHS Education for Scotland.

News: Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014

The Improving Wellbeing e-resource is for all NHS staff (in clinical and non-clinical roles) throughout Scotland. It aims to raise awareness of Parts 4, 5, and 18 (section 96) of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014, support the NHS workforce to implement and embed these Parts of the Act into practice and describes the NHS workforce’s responsibilities under this legislation.

NHS Education for Scotland and the Scottish Antimicrobial Prescribing Group are delighted to announce the launch of a free iBook for registered nurses and midwives providing education on antimicrobial stewardship.

We are delighted to announce the launch of our animation bringing infection prevention and control education to life. #SICPsMatter The animation translates the algorithm from the national Infection Prevention and Control Manual into an engaging visual resource with five key steps to easily manage all blood and body fluid spillages irrespective of care setting.

News: Practical application of SICPs - Get it right every time

We are delighted to announce the launch of 2 new video resources on the Standard Infection Control Precautions (SICPs) as part of our education provision on infection prevention and control. The videos provide education that is practical, engaging and scenario based and can easily be incorporated into in-house training sessions.
