Our Boots Trainee Pharmacist Programme supports your development to become a competent, confident Pharmacist, allowing you to put your knowledge into practice.
As an established training provider, we offer a structured, professional training programme to support you in developing clinical and pharmacy practice knowledge, along with vital soft skills & professional leadership behaviours. Designed to support your development in a holistic way, you will have access to dedicated support both in your store and the wider local area, specific training days, and access to training materials via our bespoke online training platform covering clinical topics and pharmacy practice, all aligned to the GPhC learning outcomes and registration assessment syllabus.
You’ll also have the chance to support your local community through additional training such as becoming a Dementia friend or Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacist.
After your foundation year you will be enrolled onto our Boots Newly Qualified Pharmacist Programme so you can continue your training and development. The programme helps to bridge the gap between working as a Trainee Pharmacist and working as a Newly Qualified Pharmacist. It is a blended learning programme which includes study days, self-directed learning activities and the opportunity to compile a portfolio of evidence all of which is aligned to RPS Framework.
Boots supports the development of our Pharmacists by providing the opportunity to complete further training such as Independent Prescribing courses following completion of the Boots Newly Qualified Pharmacist Programme.
Here’s what our previous Trainee Pharmacists have said:
"Due to the vast variety of services pharmacists provide at Boots, choosing them was a no-brainer for me. I knew from day one that I would be supported and looked after as a Trainee Pharmacist." - Sura
"I have met fantastic people who have helped me develop as a Pharmacist; each sharing knowledge in their own unique way. From this experience, I know that Boots is the best environment for someone to grow in community pharmacy and become a leader of the future." - Jawaad

We are an independent community pharmacy based in the centre of Inverness. We offer a wide range of services from the core NHS services through to Pharmacy First Plus as well as private services such as travel vaccines all run by our team of Independent Prescribers. We also have a great relationship with surrounding surgeries where you can gain experience in a diabetes clinic run by a prescribing nurse. The trainee pharmacist will be working daily with their designated supervisor giving them the opportunity to observe and learn all aspects of community Pharmacy. We will help develop the trainee pharmacist's communication skills and personal interactions with patients, GP practices and their colleagues.
We are dedicated to meeting the standards of both NES and the GPhC and will provide additional learning resources, including mock papers, to ensure the trainee pharmacist feel confident for their exam.
We will arrange informal interviews for candidates to discuss our company processes and values.
