Job: ACADEMIC CORE TRAINING SCHEME

The University of Aberdeen, NHS Education for Scotland (NES) and NHS Grampian and Highland are launching a new initiative, the Academic Core Training (ACT) scheme. This opportunity is part of the Aberdeen Clinical Academic Training programme (ACAT) and is intended for entrants to core or run-through training in any discipline with NHS Grampian or NHS Highland starting in August 2014.

Based in the Aberdeen Biomedical Imaging Centre within the School of Medicine and Dentistry (Division of Applied Medicine) and the Radiology Specialty Training Programme of the North of Scotland Deanery, this post would suit a Radiology trainee with demonstrable academic aspirations who wishes to pursue an academic training pathway within Radiology

Job: SCREDS Clinical Lecturer In Medical Oncology

An 80:20 split in clinical training/research time is envisaged over the duration of the post, with a maximum of 20% training time being allowed for academic activity during specialty training. It is intended that this time would be used to prepare an application for out of programme research and studentship funding to pursue a higher degree (if a higher degree is not already held) and to complete writing up of a thesis after completion of the necessary research.
