Pharmacy Quality Roadshows

16-February-2017

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS), Community Pharmacy Scotland (CPS), NHS Education for Scotland (NES), Health Improvement Scotland (HIS), The Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (The ALLIANCE), Yellow Card Centre Scotland, and NHS Health Boards are collaborating to offer a series of Quality Roadshows - designed to raise awareness of and commitment to quality improvement across Scotland.

The roadshows, which run until June 2017, will highlight forthcoming changes to legislation in relation to inadvertent dispensing errors. They will also help the implementation of Quality Improvement methods for community pharmacists and pharmacy teams; in particular, the implementation of, and learning from, the Safety Climate Survey.

Pharmacy teams attending will have the opportunity to discuss:

  • the impact of the change in legislation
  • current and future practice in relation to reporting and learning from error
  • how to use quality improvement tools to support positive changes in practice

Note: The NES Pharmacy Spring programme lists Pharmacy Quality Roadshow events organised jointly with local health boards to ensure that they complement other activities around this topic. However, they may contain similar content to RPS or local health board.

Quality Roadshows Part 2 include new material and a greater focus on the QI tools. If in doubt, please check with your local tutor as there may be variation depending on the health board.
