February saw another of our junior doctor recruitment rounds, for ST3 Higher Specialty Training, to start in the autumn.
We have continued the Facebook targeting that has proved extremely cost-effective for previous rounds, replacing traditional print advertising. Once again, we have identified and pushed ads to potential trainees across the UK, Netherlands, Germany, Singapore and Malta. These ads are in turn backed up by our social media activity. We are very grateful for the support and retweeting by our partners and stakeholders across Scotland, which give us the reach we need to raise awareness around the recruitment drive.
Initial results from the campaign are positive, with 81,000 people reached, and 3,400 clicks through to the Scottish Medical Recruitment web page. We are continuing to create materials to support both these specific recruitment drives and the general positioning of NHSScotland as an attractive environment in which to train and work. New articles are available on our Guardian Partner Zone, e.g. “10 reasons to train as a junior doctor in Scotland” [link] and we are continuing to work on expanding our range of case-study videos, available on YouTube www.youtube.com/user/NHSEducation
