Join the NMAHP eHealth Leadership Programme 2018-2019

05-June-2018

Aims of the Programme

The NMAHP ehealth leadership programme, led by NHS Education for Scotland, supports ambitious, experienced nurses, midwives, and health professionals to influence ehealth and demonstrate innovation and creativity in leading change for the benefit of patients.  The programme supports delivery of the Scotland's Digital Health and Care Strategy (Scottish Government 2018)

The programme is also open to healthcare scientists and technology-enabled care (TEC) leads.

The programme aims to:

  • Maximise the potential of digital solutions to benefit patients and
  • Support nurses, midwives, allied health professionals and healthcare scientists to develop the strategic leadership skills required to influence the use of these solutions in health and care delivery.

What does the programme involve?

The nine-month programme is structured around three themes: strategic leadership and innovation; application of technology to support service delivery and benefit patients/people and enhancing the NMAHP contribution to technology enabled practice and is intended to support participants to meet the following learning outcomes

At the end of this programme participants will be able to:

  • Critically review digital health and care policy and practice in a changing health and social care context.
  • Investigate opportunities for learning, collaborating and networking with others to maximise the use of technology to benefit service delivery within organisations
  • Provide strategic leadership to influence the contribution of NMAHP professionals in the delivery of local ehealth/digital health and care strategies.

The programme adopts a blended approach to learning which combines face to face and technology enhanced learning using presentation, workshops, peer learning and practical activities.  Programme participants will identify an aspect of practice that can be enhanced sing technology and undertake a digital improvement project using a period of work based consolidation.   Participants are expected to share the outcome of their work on the final consolidation day and with the ehealth leadership community through a poster, presentation, report or abstract submission.
