Executive Level Leadership Development


NES and professional services company, KPMG, will be working together to explore new ways of providing leadership development for aspiring, new and experienced NHS Chief Executives and Executive Directors. Our goal is to identify new and innovative approaches to leadership, as part of our role in helping oversee the implementation of the Health and Social Care Delivery Plan among National/Special health boards. 

Between June and September 2017, we’ll be working with KPMG to engage with stakeholder groups to learn about their experience of leadership development, and examining different approaches that could be taken in Scotland moving forward. As part of this we will approach a sample of Chairs, Chief Executives, Executive Directors and leadership programme Alumni to elicit views and experiences. If you are asked to participate, we would be very grateful if you would do so. 

We decided to work alongside a Technical Partner to ensure that our options appraisal draws on the best available evidence, nationally and internationally, within healthcare and beyond.

KPMG was awarded this initial contract after a competitive tendering process. It has significant experience in this area, including supporting new approaches to leadership development in NHS England, the NHS in Northern Ireland, and the UK Civil Service, in additon to its highly regarded international research and practice.
