Estates & Facilities Services

Web Resources

NES has created a number of web resources to support Estates & Facilities staff development in NHSScotland. This page provides information on, and links to, these resources.

The Estates and Facilities Portal ( is a new online resource for estates and facilities staff across NHSScotland and aims to provide resources and support for staff working in estates and facilities services.  Following wide-ranging consultations with colleagues across NHSScotland, the website was developed to provide a 'one-stop shop' for resources to support estates and facilities staff in their work, learning and career development.

The Admin Centre Portal  ( This 'one-stop shop' has been designed to support the learning and development of staff in administrative roles, with a focus on staff in AfC Bands 1-4. The Admin Centre provides access to work-related guidance, resources for administrators and access to learning resources.  Information on career development is also available.

The NHSScotland SQA Qualifications Finder (
An on-line qualifications search to help NHS staff in Scotland develop their skills and take the next step in their learning. This bright and easy-to-navigate resource provides links to SQA qualifications as well as lots of advice to help you choose the most suitable type and level of qualification for you.

The Literacies Portal  ( has been developed by NES in consultation with partners across NHSScotland and with Education Scotland. NES is committed to supporting the development of learning opportunities for all staff in NHSScotland. As part of this goal, NES has funded the Literacies Portal to support access to functional literacies support for all NHSScotland staff.  It also supports the aims of the Scottish Government's Adult Literaciies in Scotland Strategy (ALIS 2020).
