Support Workforce Online Learning Week 2023 is now open for registration
Support Workforce Online Learning Week 2023 is now open for registration.
Taking place from Monday 2 October to Friday 6 October 2023, this year’s theme follows the five workforce pillars of the National Workforce Strategy for Health and Social Care:
- Plan
- Attract
- Train
- Employ
- Nurture
The first Support Workforce online learning event in February 2022 saw 30 presenters deliver 32 sessions over four and a half days on five types of learning, to almost 350 participants.
Building on the vision and commitment of continuous improvement alongside feedback and evaluation of the 2022 event, the aim for the 2023 online learning week is to nurture and build even more opportunities for the learning and development of the support workforce.
When we talk about the support workforce, this includes those in business and administration, estates and facilities roles as well as clinical support workforce colleagues in nursing, midwifery, and the allied health professions - some 67,000 of us!
Programme sessions have been themed around the five workforce pillars of the National Workforce Strategy for Health and Social Care in Scotland and include:
- Developing a person-centred culture
- Delegation
- How to have better conversations
- Tame your advice monster
There will also be networking spaces to help you grow in confidence when planning career conversations.
The learning week will be opened by Professor Jason Leitch, National Clinical Director, Scottish Government and whilst the target audience is primarily the support workforce, this year’s event is also open for those who line manage or directly support the learning and development of the support workforce.
